Erin Harris spent 12 years as a professional musician, but after that chapter ended he was looking for another way to express his creativity. Having an interest and appreciation for those that could transform ordinary pieces of wood into something beautiful, he decided it was time to try and become one of those people. Every day that he sat in an office working for someone else felt like one day wasted, so he knew it was time to make a change.
He managed to piece together a few of the basic tools needed to get started and began practicing and creating ideas for future projects. After completing his first piece, he knew he had found his new passion. What started as a hobby quickly turned into a business, and in January 2016 he started Harris Handcrafted. By May he was moving enough inventory to quit his job and focus full time on growing the business. He focuses mainly on custom wall art, but also does home furnishings and shelving.
